REC LAB is now called the National Sports and Recreation Ministry Conference sponsored by the Center for Recreation and Sports Ministry at Oklahoma Baptist University. Held each year in January, the conference is the oldest and most attended conference of its kind.
The National Sports and Recreation Ministry Conference is dedicated to helping any church and church staff learn the proper and balanced use of sports and recreation as an evangelism, ministry and discipleship tool. Since its inception in 1964, the conference has trained tens of thousands in the use of sports and recreation as ministry tools. National and internationally known organizations such as Infinity Sports, Upward Sports, Connect Ministries, In His Grip Golf, Outdoor Ministry Network, Brillia Soccer, Sports Crusaders and Sports Reach have all benefited from being a part of the conference over the years.
Led by a team of sports and recreation ministry professionals, the conference features nationally knows speakers, breakout leaders and the very best in cutting edge ministry training led by competent practicing ministry professionals.
Participants come for the classes, but leave having been personally touched and challenged to be better spouses, moms, dads and ministers.
