If you are looking for a “Burst of Fun” (pun intended) this group of balloon games if just for you!

Do these games on a retreat, at a party or any other social gathering.  They are suitable for all ages.

Balloon Fashion.  Divide into teams, supplying each team with an array of colorful balloons and scotch tape.  Team to dress up one person from the team the best wins.  It is helpful to have an announcer and a runway as if it is a fashion show.

Balloon Stomp.  Tie reasonably full balloons to the ankle of each participant with about 10 inches of twine.  Determine your boundaries.  Person that remains without his/her balloon burst or ripped off ankle wins.  Remember, this is a very exhausting game.  It is helpful to reduce the boundaries as the number of participants become smaller.  You may not hold up your foot with hand.

Progressive Balloon Relay. Divide into teams.  Person #1 carries one inflated balloon to a point and back.  Person #2 carries person #1′s balloon plus his own balloon.  By the time you get to person #10, he is carrying 10 balloons, stuffed in shirt, between legs, under arms, etc.  If any balloons are dropped en route, person must stop and pick them up and continue.

Balloon Golf. Make focal points in room that comprise a “hole.”  Golfers must by team move their balloons to each hole with the fewest number of strokes, using a broom handle or similar.

Four Headed Relay. Divide into teams.  Two people carry balloon to a point and back with the balloon between their head, using no hands to hold it.  Upon returning, three people do the same thing, then four, etc. until the entire team is trying to move around a point and back to a starting line.

Chinese Balloon Carry. Teams attempt to race in relay to a point and back with the balloon between their ankles.  Very small steps are necessary to accomplish this, or else large hops.  The object is to complete the race first and with the most un-broken balloons.

Balloon Man! Give each team some very loose fitting clothing (pants and shirt) or large sweat pants and shirts and an equal supply of  balloons. One team member dawns the clothes. On signal, each team has two minutes and begin to blow up their balloons and stuff them inside the loose fitting clothing of their balloon man.  Judge the teams and applaud them all!

Next: give  each team a hat pin or something like that. On signal they are to pop the balloons (being very careful NOT to stick the person wearing the clothing).  First team finished wins.
